I am a corporate and organizational financial thought partner, advisor, teacher, and catalyst to action with over 35 years of experience making numbers talk, dance and sing. Throughout my career, I have partnered with growth-minded people to bring together talent, financial language, and strategy to drive measurable results. My work has taken me across industries, audiences, and coastlines. I have had the privilege of helping professionals in both the public and private sectors across Eastern Canada as well as the Pacific Northwest reach their goals.
Whether in the classroom, with clients or on a board, continuous learning and teaching have always been part of my life. I have seen time and again that anyone can learn accounting and finance if they focus on the story behind the numbers. I have also understood that hearing where people come from and where they are going tremendously helps to convey finance. I have taught corporate executives, legal and HR professionals, government leaders, and finance teams. As a faculty member at Laval University, the Naval Postgraduate School, and Willamette University, I have always loved seeing that moment when someone “gets it” and realizes that numbers tell a story. As a consultant for over ten years, I have helped business owners and executives make the same shift—turning financial information into insight, action and results.
I currently work with business owners, executives, and finance professionals who are ready to grow. I began my career in 1988 as a CPA deeply involved in professional practice and exam preparation, working closely with small business owners and accounting teams. Early on, I learned that when business owners and their staff share a common financial language and focus on results, everyone benefits.
While I am passionate about all things financial, but even more passionate about people. Where there are people, there are numbers, and where there are numbers, there are people. I love challenges, learning new things, and continually improving my skills. When I’m not consulting or working with Social Venture Partners in Portland, you’ll find me outdoors—on the golf course, rafting, kayaking, hiking, cycling, or riding my motorcycle—or cheering on my circus aerialist friends.
