The single biggest help that Nicole gave us in our years of working together was the realization that you need to understand the profitability of a specific brand strategy and the related products, to go to the next level. Before Nicole I was emotional about selling a certain product, but when I found out they were our least profitable, my enthusiasm quickly waned.
So, I found myself saying that for a business to be successful, you need to know where you are in jail, before you know get out. Nicole got us out of the profit jail! And just in time as we sold the company about 18 months ago, for all the money. Maybe that’s why I’m her greatest fan!
She simply helped us understand the engine room, which was to learn how to dive very, very deeply into how to really cost products and the business in general. It was a blast, time and again, having the curtain pulled aside to realize our assumptions were wrong. We simply didn’t know where to look, I guess I could say. And we weren’t stupid.
Nicole is just very, very good at understanding the why behind the numbers. Nicole will remain a lifetime friend, because beyond all this she is just a great honest extremely fun genius.
